Penurunan penjualan tersebut membuat Levi's rugi 364 juta dolar AS. Jumlah tersebut setara Rp5,2 triliun. Pengumumkan laporan keuangan tersebut beriringan dengan rencana pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) sekitar 15 persen dari total pekerja Levi's di seluruh dunia. Dengan begitu, sekitar 700 karyawan terdampak PHK.
"PHK itu dilakukan untuk mengurangi tekanan keuangan selama pandemi. PHK tersebut diperkirakan menghemat biaya 100 juta dolar AS per tahun," kata CEO Levi's, Chip Bergh seperti dikutip dari CNBC, Rabu (8/7/2020).

Saat ini sekitar 90 persen dari toko Levi's di seluruh dunia telah dibuka. Namun, Bergh pesimistis penjualan bisa menyamai capaian tahun lalu. Dia juga tak yakin pemulihan ekonomi bisa berlangsung cepat.
